If you’ve read my “About” page, then you know I have an interest in writing fiction. It’s the one thing that I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember, but due to the realities of adult life and other lame excuses, I’ve never given it the time necessary to work on my craft. The result has been many false starts, pages upon pages of notes and outlines, a hard drive and phone full of text files, and a library of “how-to” writing books I may never get through in my lifetime.
That’s all about to change.
I’m finally making learning the craft of writing fiction a priority.
To that end, I’ve made the small step of enrolling in a proper writing class. An unfortunate side effect of the time required for class assignments is that I will have (much) less time for Write Analog. I know my limits, and to attempt to do both to my level of satisfaction will not be successful.
For now, I’m going to discontinue the weekly newsletter and monthly giveaway. I’m also going to be posting here less frequently, at least for awhile.
Honestly, I’m not sure how this new focus in my life will ultimately affect the blog. I’m not going to make any predictions, but I do know my use of analog writing tools isn’t going to decrease. I’m looking forward to even more opportunities to use my always-growing collection of pens, pencils, and paper.
. . . and I still need a place to geek out about that stuff. 🙂
